Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most preferred short adventures by trekkers of all age groups. Where all treks around the Annapurna Himalayas start and end in Pokhara, a city of lakes and mountains.
Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking is a moderate-grade walk with some steep ups and downhill to encounter. But an enjoyable and exciting trek without the problem of HAS (High Altitude Sickness).
As elevation gains slowly along with pleasant walks from one mountain village to another lovely area. walk leads through a serene forest of tall rhododendrons, oaks, pines, and fir trees.
In the springtime, this area will be a paradise when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom. The walk slowly reaches Ghorepani, a moderate-sized village amidst a rhododendron forest. Ghorepani, situated beneath the famous Poon Hill Viewpoint Hill, is a scenic settlement for an overnight stop. The next morning rising early for an hour hike up to Poon Hill to catch the striking sunrise.
On reaching Poon Hill, the highest spot of the trek, enjoy the dramatic scenery of rolling green hills. As well as arrays of snow mountain ranges from Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri to Annapurna region with Manaslu Himal. Includes the majestic Machhapuchare Himal the famous prominent Fish-Tail Peak, which dominates the
Annapurna Himalaya's southern green hills. Enjoyable and refreshing morning with glorious scenery of the Himalayan ranges and stunning sunrise views. The return journey leads to Pokhara following an alternative route past Deurali, Tadapani to reach Ghandruk.

The Best Time for Ghorepani & Poon Hill Trek
For Ghorepani & Poon Hill treks, for nearly all seasons of the year except the wet monsoon times. Which is July and August, the most favorable and best seasons are spring and autumn/fall. Spring season starts in March and ends in May, most days are bright with sunshine for longer hours. From early 6 am till 5 pm, but can get cloudy afternoon sometimes with chances of light snowfall. Cold morning, late afternoon, and night times, as well with an extra wind-chill factor above 1,500 meters. Spring is a lively time when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially rhododendrons flowers of various species and colors.
The next best season is autumn/fall, from September to November, most days are fine and clear for views and walks. But much cold morning, late afternoon, and nighttime, chances of snowfall sometimes. But a pleasant season of autumn/fall for the Ghorepani and Poon Hill treks. Interested people can enjoy the trek to Ghorepani & Poon Hill during the winter times of December to February also. Despite the cold morning, late afternoon, and nighttime most days are fine with sunshine. But gets dark soon by 5 p.m. and sunlight reaches by 6:30 a.m.
