The adventure to Annapurna Base Camp Trek 14 Days involves a short, exciting drive from scenic Pokhara city. The walk follows a steep climb to reach a lovely traditional mountain village at Chomrong. Chomrong is the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp, the last permanent village. The walk follows through a lovely serene forest of tall rhododendrons and pine trees to enter a gorge of Modi River.

One of the few adventures in the Himalayas, where the walks follow a river to its glacial source like the Annapurna Base Camp. Making this trek even more interesting to experience, and then finally the trail reaches a wide open plateau. Where scenic Annapurna Sanctuary, is situated amidst towering giant peaks of the Annapurna Himalayas massive range. The walk then reaches you in the heart of Annapurna Himal at base camp.

Enjoy the spectacular panorama of surrounding snow peaks in the comfort of a cozy lodge at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). After an enjoyable time and experience standing in front of staggering Mt. Annapurna and adjoining peaks. The return journey is on the same exciting route (Itinerary) to end the walk at Jhinu village, past Chomrong. Best Time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is nearly for all seasons of the year, but the best is spring and autumn/fall times. Spring begins from March to May, a lively season with longer sunlight hours for pleasant walks and views. The right season is when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, like the rhododendrons of various species and colors. But morning and late afternoon till night time will be cold, and can get cloudy. As well as chances of light showers, and snowfall sometimes.

The next best time is autumn/fall, which starts from September to November, one of the peak seasons. For trekking and various adventures in Nepal and around the Himalayas, most days are fine and clear. But cold morning, late afternoon until night time, days are shorter due to limited sunlight hours. Chances of snowfall sometimes during autumn times, but trekkers can also enjoy during the winter time of Christmas and New Year Holidays. Bright and clear most of the days, but gets dark soon due to the winter seasons, can get snowed in sometimes.

Annapurna Conversation Trekking permits.

For Annapurna base camp or any other trekking areas around the Annapurna region North or South. Including Nar Phu Valley and Upper Mustang as well as on Manaslu Circuit, requires permits and entrance fees.

Nar Phu, Upper Mustang and Manaslu Circuit located within Restricted Region in Nepal. A special permits is required as per the number of days as on the itinerary of respective areas. As all the region within Annapurna Himalayas falls

within ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project. Where all trekkers needs ACAP fees on top of normal or special trekking permits.

The normal trekking permits, besides special permits is called TIMS (Trekking Information Management Systems). These permits is issued by TAAN (Trekking Agents Association of Nepal), the needful permits will be obtained by your agents.

Depending upon the areas of trekking destinations on booking with Himalayan Friendly will obtained the Trekking Permits and Conservation fees. Himalayan Friendly will obtain all the needful entrance fees for the treks, after sending and providing the needful documents. Like Passport details, photos and areas of trekking and duration of travel.

Itinerary

On arrival in Kathmandu at Nepal International Airport received by Himalayan Friendly staff and guide. A short drive to your hotel, located in the main areas of Kathmandu city. On reaching the hotel, check into your lovely rooms after a long flight and jet-leg. Getting refreshed join with other members of Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill Trekking for briefing. Provided by Himalayan Friendly guide or leader, a detailed information of the trekking route, local lodge and foods. After briefing a group welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese Restaurant with local folk culture programs.

Morning depart from Kathmandu on tourist bus, coach or on a chartered vehicle if include in the trip cost. The drive heads beyond Kathmandu Valley reaching lower warmer farm villages and towns, following the Trisuli River till Mugling Bazaar. Then the route diverts west with views of Manaslu Himal, as drive reach Pokhara enjoy views of Annapurna Himalayan range. On arrival in Pokhara by late afternoon transfer to a nice hotel by Phewa Lakeside.

From the beautiful scenic city of Pokhara starts our adventure to Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill Trekking. Morning drive heading west on Pokhara and Beni Highway with stunning views of Annapurna Himalayas. As drive reach at the town of Nayapul, then starting the walk to nice village of Bhirethati. The trail follows with slow climb with views of beautiful waterfalls to reach Hille and at Thirkhedhunga farm village. Transfer into a nice lodge and enjoy walk to nearby lovely waterfalls.

Morning after a good breakfast, walk across a bridge then climb on steep uphill lined with stone steps. The climb of few hours to reach a large hill village of Ulleri with views of Annapurna peaks. From Ulleri on nice and pleasant winding uphill through beautiful forest of rhododendrons and pines. Then reaching at Ghorepani village for overnight, inhabited by the Poon-Magar, the tribes of western Nepal. From Ghorepani overlooking grand scenery of Dhaulagiri Himal range in the comfort of nice lodge.

Rising early morning before breakfast, an hour hike uphill to the top of Poon Hill, for striking sunrise views. Besides sunrise enjoy the wide 380 degrees’ panorama of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and Nilgiri’s peaks with Annapurna and Manaslu Himal. After refreshing morning hike and scenic views of sunrise and Himalayan range of peaks, down to Ghorepani for breakfast. Leaving Ghorepani with climb through lovely forest to the top of Deurali, and then down to Bhanthati for lunch stop. Afternoon walk down to a stream and climb for an hour to Tadapani for overnight stop. A lovely spot, in the shadow of Annapurna Himalayas amidst forest surroundings.

From Tadapani morning walk to long descend to Kimrong river, a lovely walk into dense tree lines. On reaching the bridge, climb up to the other side of the hill, the trail leads to gradual walks. Walk past smaller farm villages with short down to Chomrong Village for overnight halt. Chomrong a large Gurung village, the gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and picturesque Sanctuary. Enjoy the comfort of a lovely lodge accommodation and good food.

After a pleasant overnight in Chomrong Village, today’s walk is quite short starts with short down to Chomrong River. Then climb on stone steps to Sinuwa hill top a place with few Tea House and shops. From here on winding route through dense woods with short downhill to Bamboo. Located on Modi River gorge amidst lovely forest of rhododendron, pines and bamboo and hence the name Bamboo. Reaching Bamboo for lunch and overnight stop, a place with several nice simple lodges.

Another short day to enjoy the morning walks to Deurali before Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp. After breakfast a slow climb into dense tree lines to reach Dovan, a small place with few lodges. The walk follows the Modi River gorge to reach a large overhanging Hinko Cave and to Himali Hotel. After Himali Hotel, walk across the old glaciated moraine of rocks down close to Modi River. A short climb brings you to Deurali, located on a nice flat field with number of good lodges. At Deurali check into a lodge for lunch and overnight stop, with leisure afternoon to enjoy.

Today is the main day for the adventure to reach the goal and highlight to Annapurna Base Camp. As well the Sanctuary, from Deurali morning walk follows the raging Modi River upstream with steep climb to MBC. Which is Machhapuchare Base Camp for short, located at the bottom of majestic North West Face of Machhapuchare Himal. The famous unclimbed Fish-Tail Peak of the Himalayas, from MBC enter the picturesque Annapurna Sanctuary enclosed by towering snow peaks. Once in the sanctuary, the walk is gradual with slow ups to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. Located beneath great snow wall of
Mt. Annapurna-I, listed as world’s 10 th highest peaks.

Annapurna Base Camp is unique; it is one of the few 8,000 meters, mountain base camp with facilities of a warm cozy lodges. At ABC check into a nice lodge for lunch and overnight stop, in the backdrop of giant mountain range. Afternoon explore the base camp surroundings with views of massif glaciers, the
base camp surrounded by tiers of giant snow peaks. Includes views of Annapurna- I, Gangapurna Himal and Annapurna Fang or Vara Shikar with A-South and Huin- Chuli. As well as Tent Peak/Tharpu Chuli, Fluted Peak/ Singu Chuli with Machhapuchare Himal towards east.

After achieving the goal of the adventure reaching the main highlight at Annapurna base camp. Return journey on same route downhill to Bamboo with few short ups and back into tree lines. After a long walk enjoy the comfort of a nice lodge close to Modi River.

Morning from Bamboo a short climb to reach a old place of Khuldi Ghar. At one time stood as a check-post, at present in ruins, from here reach Sinuwa Danda. After a short rest down to Chomrong River and then climb up to Chomrong Village for lunch stop. Afternoon a short hour walks down to Jhinu Danda a small village with a natural hot-spring. After checking into a lodge, have time to enjoy a refreshing dip and a bathe in the hot-spring pools.

From Jhinu Village cross over a long bridge to reach Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara. Transfer into a nice hotel room, have time to explore the beautiful Phewa Lakeside. As well as enjoy the boat ride on the serene lake and visit the Barahi Temple situated on an island in the middle of the lake.

Depart from the hotel in Pokhara after an early breakfast, driving on coach or Tourist Bus. The drive heads on the same exciting and busy highway to reach back into hustle and bustle city in Kathmandu. On arrival by late afternoon transfer to your hotel in time for dinner with last overnight in Kathmandu and Nepal.

Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, after a great memorable adventure around Annapurna Himalayas. Enjoying the great walks to Annapurna Base Camp & Poon Hill Trekking. As time for your international airport terminal, our guide and staff transfer you to International Airport. Then bidding farewell to Nepal and guide, staff, as you enter air terminal for homeward bound flight.

The hotel in Kathmandu is booked according to our standard itinerary days, in Kathmandu normally will be for 3 overnights. Please remember while in Kathmandu it will be on Bed and Breakfast basis. Includes welcome or farewell dinner only.

Lodges Accommodation in Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The lodge accommodation en route to Annapurna base camp trekking, trekkers can find several options until Ghandruk, Chomrong, and Jhinu. After leaving the beautiful Pokhara city, the starting and ending points of most adventures around the Annapurna Himalayas.

The accommodation also depends upon the itinerary, where some treks start from Jhinu to Chomrong village. A few treks also begin from Ghandruk villages and then walk towards Chomrong to reach Annapurna Base Camp. At Jhinu, Ghandruk, and Chomrong, the lodge accommodation is the best with facilities for attached bathrooms and toilets. But from Chomrong onward the lodge accommodation is simple and basic, Chomrong is the last permanent village.

The other places en route to Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary are temporary settlements with tea houses and Lodges. To cater to the needs of the trekkers, whereas lodge accommodation is simple. Offers common bathrooms and toilets, and in the high seasons sometimes the rooms are overbooked.

Where trekkers need to share a room with another person, chances of a single room requirement will be difficult sometimes. The trekkers have to pay extra for using hot showers from Chomrong onwards. But the best of Annapurna Base Camp is that it is the only 8,000-meter mountain base camp. In all the Himalayas, where trekkers can find the comfort of a nice lodge accommodation, with rooms facing lovely views.

Drinking Water in Anapurnna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna Base camp trek providing a safe drinkking watter at most tea houses and shops along the route. Because of the altitude it is recommended you drink in the region of 3-4 liters per day, although this can include, tea and soup. During Annapurna Sanctuary trek (ABC), you don’t find a bottle mineral water.

Instead, you have to refill safe drinking water which is available in each and every teahouse around Annapurna region. Safe Drinking water is maintained by a local committee which mainly looks after the cleanliness of the water. It will be better to have one spare of an empty bottle while refilling the water.

Of course, you can modify the itinerary by adding an extra day with the guidance of a trekking guide. While adding extra days the cost will be slightly increased.

3 .) What are the symptoms of altitude sickness?

The early symptoms of HAS or High Altitude Sickness with various reactions, such as short of breathing, tiredness. As well as with severe headache, nausea, lack of appetite and sleepless nights. Most important is dehydration, not enough fluid intake.

4 .) Can I buy trekking gear from Kathmandu?

Yes, you can buy trekking gear from Kathmandu. Thamel is the best place to buy trekking gear.

5 .) Is Himalayan Friendly a Government-Authorized Trekking Agency?

Yes, only Government Registrated   Authorized Trekking Agency are allowed to run and organize trekking and tours in Nepal. Also only licensed guide from the
Government and Tourism Department are allowed to lead the treks or tours.

6 .) What types of shoes should I bring for the treks?

It is not shoes required for the trekking in the Himalayas, all trekkers needs a good
comfortable trekking boots. Which can withstand rain, snow and walking on
rough dirt trails. The shoes are needed before and after the treks, but good boots
are the important items to bring for the trekking.

7 .) Are the hotels in Nepal safe?

Yes it is completely and 100% safe, from Tourist standard, deluxe star hotels to
low budget hotels. In Nepal customers are honored and taken as a highly guest
with warm hospitality of the Nepali peoples.

8 .) Can I or Can I not leave my luggage in Kathmandu whilst on the trek?

Yes. You absolutely can.

9 .) Can I get Nepal's Visa upon arrival in Tribhuvan airport?

Tourists easily can apply their Nepali Visa upon the arrival in Tribhuvan Airport.  It may take a few 30 minutes because same time a lot of tourists in the same process to obtain the Nepali Visa in Nepal Airport.

What you can do is please fill the all details to apply the Nepali Visa before landing the Tribhuvan Airport.  It help you to obtain visa quicker than usual. You should bring passport photo copy and passport size Photo to apply the Nepali visa in the Nepal Airport.

10 .) How much cash should you bring for the awesome trek? Can I use credit cards along the trail?

To have an incredible time on the trek, make sure you have enough cash. You’ll need it for things like hot showers, drinking water, snacks, staying connected, and charging your devices.

We suggest bringing around 2500 Rupees per day as a rough estimate. But remember, it can vary based on how much you usually spend.

Just a heads up, only a few shops on the trail accept credit cards. So, it’s best to have plenty of cash with you before you start your journey!

11 .) Which hotel will I stay at in Kathmandu? Can I extend my stay or upgrade?

First off, you will be staying at a wonderfully pristine hotel of a three star status here in Kathmandu or Pokhara or any other central place depending on your itinerary. These three star hotels are known for their excellent service and beautifully clean rooms. They are located in very beautiful areas with easy accessibility to markets and restaurants all to make your stay convenient and enjoyable. We’ll make sure that you’ll have a comfortable room with a private bathroom, and a tasty breakfast will also be included.
