Our 8-day Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most enjoyable and exciting short adventures of a week-long walk. On this trek to Langtang Valley, trekkers will feel safe from catching HAS or High Altitude Sickness. As the elevation gains gradually, by the time you reach the highest overnight stop at Kyanjin Gompa. By then, all will be well acclimatized to enjoy the spectacular surrounding views and panoramas of the giant snow mountains.
Langtang Valley Trek is for all types of people and age groups, including families with children and elderly folks. But should be physically fit and in good health to accept the challenge of uphill walks. So that all can enjoy the highlights of the adventure on reaching the final destination.
The adventure to Langtang Valley leads to moderate walks with some steep climbs to encounter. However, it is a lovely walk, where all needs to heed slowly. Have time for a short rest to enjoy and observe the surrounding glorious vista of the snow-capped peaks and fascinating cultures.
The trail follows from one village to another, walking through a lovely forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. Then, reaching Kyanjin Gompa, a moderate-sized settlement with several good lodges. Amidst the heart of picturesque Langtang Valley, enclosed by a series of giant snow peaks.
At Kyanjin Gompa, enjoy the rest days for an exciting hike to the scenic viewpoints of Kyanjin-Ri and Tserko-Ri. The high ridges of Kyanjin-Ri or Tserko-Ri offer a spectacular panorama of the Langtang Himal range of peaks. Enjoy the views as far as Jugal Himal with the prominent peaks of Dorje Lakpa and Langshisa-Ri. Include views of mountains with the world's highest Shisapangma across the border in Tibet.
After the marvelous experience at Kyanjin Gompa and around Langtang Valley, enjoy a return trek downhill to Syabrubesi Village. For an exciting and interesting overland journey back to Kathmandu after a delightful and wonderful adventure on Langtang Valley Trekking.
The best seasons for Langtang Valley Trekking are spring and autumn/fall. Spring starts from March to May, a lively season with longer sunlight hours for pleasant walks and views. The best times and seasons are when wildflowers are in
seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors. In spring, with cold mornings, late afternoon, and night, it can get cloudy with chances of light showers and snowfall sometimes.
The next best season is the autumn/fall, which begins from September to November. It is the high season for various adventures in Nepal and Langtang Valley Trek. Most days are fine and clear with cold morning, late afternoon, and night times. The days are short and get dark soon due to limited sunlight hours. Chances of snowfall sometimes trekkers can also enjoy the treks during the winter time. Most days are bright with clear blue skies, but it gets dark soon with chances of snowfall sometimes.
The morning starts early for a long and exciting drive to Syabrubesi the gateway town and village to Langtang Valley. The drive follows north on leaving Kathmandu, heading past Trisuli town, and then to enter Rasuwa district. The road leads winding uphill to cooler hills reaching Dhunche, the headquarters town of Rasuwa district. As well as the entrance of Langtang National Park, from Dhunche downhill on the zig-zagged winding road to reach Syabrubesi. Arrive by late afternoon for overnight, and then check into a nice lodge and have time to explore the town-farm village. Observe the local culture and custom of the Tamang people the tribes of Langtang and the Central Himalayan region.
Syabrubesi is a vantage starting point for Ganesh Himal, the Tibet border, and the Tamang Heritage Trail. As well as to Langtang Valley, a morning walk follows to cross a bridge and climb towards small farm areas. As the walk continues reaching a small settlement of Riverside with few Tea Houses. Stopping for a lunch stop, afternoon a gradual climb into the dense forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. They reach an open area amidst the forest surrounding them. Where Lama Hotel settlement situated our overnight stop in the comfort of a nice simple lodge.
Lama Hotel is located in a river gorge amidst dense woods, The morning walk starts following the river upstream through lovely trees. Reaching a nice spot at Ghode Tabla for lunch, an afternoon walk into the forested trail to Langtang Village. Trekkers can see the rubble of big boulders from the avalanches that destroyed the village in the 2015 earthquakes. Many local people were killed as well as some foreign trekkers, and a small memorial of Stupa stands in the village. The village has been rebuilt and life is slowly coming back to normal, enjoy the comfort of a nice simple lodge.
From Langtang Village today a short walk to Kyanjin Gompa for lunch and overnight stop. The walk follows past to adjoining village of Mundu with a short steep climb then into a wide valley. From here the tall tree lines drop for short juniper bushes, facing views of Langtang Himal with Dorje Lakpa. Slowly the walk reaches a lovely large settlement of Kyanjin Gompa with a small
monastery. The lodges here are much better than previous overnight stops, enjoy the comfort of a nice lodge accommodation. An enjoyable and exciting place Kyanjin Gompa for a rest day, having breakfast options for short and long day hikes. The short hike is a climb to Kyanjin-Ri at 4,773 m and a longer hike of 4-5 hours. It is a steep climb up to Tserko-Ri. Which is 5,033 m high, both viewpoints offer a spectacular panorama of the surrounding giant peaks. Includes super vista of Langtang Himal range with Langtang Lirung and Langtang-Ri. Overlooking as far as Jugal Himal, Yala Peak, and Dorje Lakpa with some mountains across the border in Tibet. Rest of the afternoon at leisure amidst beautiful mountain surroundings at Kyanjin Gompa.
Enjoy a wonderful time at Kyanjin, with glorious views of towering snow-capped peaks. After breakfast enjoy the longest day walks to Lama Hotel, with a long stretch of downhill. Reaching back into tall tree lines past Mundu, and Langtang villages to reach Lama Hotel for an overnight stop.
On the last day trek of the adventure, a morning walk follows on the same trail, enjoying the views along the route. The walk leads downhill through a forested path, heading past farm areas. Then finally the walk reached Syabrubesi for the last overnight around the Langtang Himal region and in Rasuwa district.
The morning after last overnight in a mountain village at Syabrubesi and around Langtang Himal region. The drive follows on the same interesting highway past farm villages and towns to reach Kathmandu. Arriving in the late afternoon, the rest of the evening for leisure activities or shopping for souvenirs.

Trek difficulty and physical fitness are required for Langtang Valley Trekking, all trekkers should be in good physical shape. As well as in sound medical health, nevertheless it is a straightforward trek, without any difficulties.
The only hard is walking on steep uphill for some hours, but more or less the trail is gradual. As the elevation gains gradually, without having a problem of catching HAS or High Altitude Sickness. The only rise in altitude is at Kyanjin Gompa the main highlight and destination of the trek.

The rest of the walk is downhill on the return trek back to Syabrubesi for the drive to Kathmandu. Taking slow, and steady with few short stops for refreshing breaks will help you to cover the whole trek.

Langtang Valley is the shortest trek of a week duration, where all can join in. From families with young kids, and elderly people including school and college students to corporate exudatives. Where the walk leads to a safe altitude, the lodge accommodations are simple but nice with good food to enjoy. Along with the stunning views of snow peaks can be enjoyed during the walks to Langtang Valley.

Not likely, as the Langtang Valley trek is safe and altitude friendly where elevation rises at a slow pace. Most trekkers will be well acclimatized by then if some suffer from slight headaches and symptoms of high altitude sickness.
The itinerary days are flexible with moderate walking hours, which supports acclimatization. The itinerary also has rest days, for acclimatization and a short hike around Langtang Valley.
Langtang Valley Trekking is not difficult nor a big problem with the rise in altitude. But for trekkers, the best is to heed at a slow and easy pace and take frequent rest to catch your breath. As well as drinking lots of fluids, like water at least 2-3 liters on daily walks. The other things to avoid are walking fast, taking the advice of your guides, having good sleep, and healthy foods.
Himalayan friendly should pay for the guides, porters, and accommodation in advance. So if you did not finish the trek due to physical difficulty, or natural disaster, then the money is not refunded.
