I’ve had the pleasure of trekking with Ram from Himalayan Friendly twice-once in Langtang and once on the Annapurna Circuit-and both experiences were outstanding.

What sets Ram apart is his easygoing and customer-driven approach. He is always present and attentive without ever being intrusive. Ram’s style is quiet and friendly, but he’s also consistently observant, making sure everyone is comfortable and safe throughout the trek.

Logistics, safety, and planning were all handled seamlessly. Ram is a great source of local knowledge and always keeps himself updated with the latest information from locals along the route. This meant that we always felt secure and well-prepared, no matter the circumstances.

Cultural insights and local knowledge were always available. Ram is happy to answer any questions and share his deep understanding of the region, but he never overwhelms you with information unless you ask. This made the experience feel very personal and tailored to our interests.

Himalayan Friendly’s support was excellent from start to finish. Permits and paperwork were handled efficiently, so I never had to worry about the details and could focus on enjoying the trek.

Accommodations and food were consistently good. Ram has a great eye for choosing the right teahouses, ensuring we were always comfortable and well-fed.

Would I recommend Himalayan Friendly and Ram? Absolutely-100%. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, considerate, and reliable guide, Ram and the Himalayan Friendly team are the perfect choice. I look forward to trekking with them again!

My partner & I did the Langtang trek with Ram at Himalayan Friendly in October 2024. It was one of the most beautiful travel experiences I’ve ever had.
Ram had everything taken care of, from airport pick ups, lovely hotel, great day in Kathmandu to bus ride to the start of trek. From there the beauty of nature takes your breath away. Ram was the most gentle, kind, calm yet strong guide. We felt so relaxed and at peace in his company and he was so intuitive to our needs. The tea houses he chose were wonderful, the whole experience was five star. I had tears saying goodbye. Ram and his porter Abhishek felt more like friends by the end of the journey. A heartfelt Himalayan holiday.

Dec 2018 • Friends
Ram took my two friends and I on a trek to Peaky (Pikey) Peak in December. Our porters were excellent, Ram had brought fresh fruit for us to have each day, and he took care in arranging comfortable accommodation if we weren’t happy with initial choices. While there was some miscommunication with our flight back (we had to wait an extra day in the town we were in), Ram made up for it by taking us on a stunning local hike. Communication was a bit choppy before we met him and went on the trek, but in person, everything worked out really well, so you just need to trust in the process if things don’t seem so clear at first. Ram is a very gentle, kind person with a quirky sense of humour. He was very helpful when we needed to buy some equipment in Thamel at the start of the trek, too. You will have a great experience if you trek with him!
