Langtang Valley trek covers a distance of approx. 65 km/40 miles, from Syabrubesi to Syabrubesi 1,470 m/4, 823 feet. The trek leads to the last final settlement at Kyanjin Gompa 3,870 m / 12,697 feet. Located in the heart of Langtang Valley after spending overnights at Lama Hotel and Langtang Village.

A moderate adventure with average walking hours of 5-6 hours and minimum of 3-4 hours to reach Kyanjin Gompa. One of the most favored trekking destinations around Nepal Himalayas, after Annapurna and Everest regions.

Langtang Himal peaks are the prominent mountain ranges, situated within Nepal central Himalaya. The closest Himalayan mountains from the capital Kathmandu city and the valley, which can be seen on a clear day.

PERMITS REQUIRED FOR LANGTANG VALLEY AND BEYOND:

The permits required for Langtang Valley and beyond to various Himalayan adventure destinations is TIMS. The full form for TIMS is Trekking Information Management Systems, which is obtained from TAAN. But on booking your local trekking agencies in Kathmandu, will obtain for you, as well as for other fellow trekkers.

Planning for Langtang Valley Trek, needs to book first with your chosen agencies, Himalayan Friendly. After sending full profile of your documents and details of the passports and PP size photos. It will be almost ready by the time you arrive in Kathmandu for the trek departures. On arrival in Kathmandu you will have to hand 4 PP size photos, along with the valid passport and Nepal visa approval. As per the duration of your holidays in Nepal, the trekking permits TIMS will be ready before the trek departures.

The next important permits are the Langtang National Park entrance tickets, which is also obtained by the company on booking.

The cost for TIMS is NRS 2,000 or approx.US 15 per person, at present 2024.

LANTANGTANG NATIONAL PARK PERMIT:

Langtang National Park the first nature conservation around the mountainous regions in Nepal Himalayas. Established in 1976, at present it is the fourth country’s protected projects. Langtang National Park cover 1,710 sq.km / 660 sq.

miles starts from Rasuwa as far as Nuwakott, and towards Sindhupalchok districts. The park is enriched with exotic rare flora and fauna, and makes an ideal habitat for the endangered Red Panda. Includes other elusive wild mammals and bird life which is often seen on trek to Langtang Valley and beyond.

Langtang National Park covers great diverse landscapes as low as 900 meters to above 7,245 m. Which is Langtang Lirung tallest peaks within Langtang National Park areas, as well the peaks of Langtang Himal. It also forms the boundary with Tibet/China towards north. The peaks of Langtang Himal is the glacial source of major rivers of Trisuli, Bhote and Sun Koshi.

Due to its dramatic diversity all types of vegetation are found from Sal, oaks, blue pines. Includes rhododendrons, firs and junipers with hemlock, spruce higher up above 2,000 meters with bamboo grooves. Langtang the name derived from Tamang language of Tibetan origin, means ‘follow the ox, and yaks’.

To protect and conserve this pristine flora/fauna mountains, local cultures and its beautiful landscapes of valleys, hills and snow peaks.

Langtang National Park entrance fee required for all foreign trekkers, adventurers and mountaineers. The entrance and main headquarters of Langtang National Park is Dhunche Town at 2,030 m/6,660 feet high. It is the largest and administrative town of Rasuwa district. It is approx. 120 km/75 miles driving distance from Kathmandu city.

Langtang National Park Permit is NRP 3,000, including VAT (about USD 26) for foreigners. Different price for SAARC (South Asia Areas Regional Cooperation) countries approx. NRS 1,500 or US$ 12. Per person.

With the same TIMS and Langtang National Park permits, trekkers can enjoy wide ranges of adventure destinations. Besides Langtang Valley, one can extend the trek to Ganesh Himal, Tamang Heritage Trail. As well can combing Langtang Valley with Gosainkunda holy lake, and can traverse to Helambu via Ganja-La Pass.

Including an exciting adventure climb to Yala Peak above 5,500 m/18,000 feet high. Can enjoy the trek beyond from Langtang Valley towards Panch Pokhari around Jugal Himal areas crossing high Tillman’s Col 5,320 m/ 17,454 feet.
