As you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our airport representatives would be waiting for your arrival at the exit point of the Airport. He/she will exchange a warm greeting and then, escort you to your hotel in a private vehicle.

We don’t have any specific plans for this day. But, if you wish, you may stroll around the tourist hub of Thamel. Or, you may as well visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is just 25 mins away by foot from Thamel.

2nd day is the sight-seeing day. Today, you will explore some of the UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites around the Kathmandu valley.

Firstly, you will visit Patan Durbar Square (built in the Newari Architecture), which was the Royal Palace of Malla Kings during the 13th – 18th century. This durbar square is intricately carved with beautiful window designs to give it a unique outlook. The walls of this mansion depict the images of god. In a word, this palace is just incredible. Subsequently, you will go to visit one of the most revered temples of Lord Shiva- Pashupatinath Temple. This temple covers a big space, which is filled by zillions of little shrines- each of which is dedicated to a unique deity. The golden statue of ‘Nandi’ is the attraction of this temple.

Then, you will go towards Swayambhunath Temple, dedicated to Lord Buddha. This temple is famous for its viewpoint, from where the overall Kathmandu valley could be seen at a glance. Playing monkeys can be spotted around the premises of the temple. Another historical site that you will visit on this day is the Boudhanath Stupa. It is a holy Buddhist’s shrine, featuring a massive mandala. The surrounding milieu is vibrant with the prayer flags and prayer wheels. This edifice looks incredible. At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel at Kathmandu for the overnight stay.

The flight to Lukla leaves early in the morning. It takes around 25 min – 45 min to reach Lukla, but these moments are full of adventure. You will be flying over the lush hills parallel to the clouds, so, there is no chance of escape if anything goes wrong. Also, the runway of Lukla is very short, which is even more thrilling.

As you land in the airport at Lukla, you will get your backpacks ready and kick-off towards Phakding, which is your next stop-over for the night. Within a couple of minutes of walking, you will see a check-post of Rural Municipality Ticket (RMT) near the Kani gate. The trail meanders for a while and then, jumps up and down alternately. There are also few suspension bridges, hanging above the roaring Dudh Koshi river. On the way, you might also encounter a few yak caravans. The first day of this trek is going to be an exciting day. On arrival at Phakding, your guide will arrange the room and foods for the night.

From Phakding, leave early in the morning because there is a long way to go today. For the first few hours, the trail contours on the west side of the Dudh Koshi and then passes through the quaint settlements of Sherpas. It is a pleasant walk, which, later on, intrudes through the forest of Pine. As you arrive at the village of Toctoc, you will see a beautiful waterfall falling from the high cliff in steps. This glimpse of nature is just breathtaking.

Soon after that, there is another waterfall in the village of Bengkar, which is famous for its apple pies. Walk until you see a wooden bridge, after which the path climbs up to Monjo, which is also an entry-point to Sagarmatha National Park. It is better to spend a few minutes reading the facts about the National park. Within a couple of minutes, you will arrive at another village of Jorsalle. Then, you will walk continuously through the forest. From somewhere in the middle of the trek, you can catch the first glimpse of Everest if the weather is clear. Walk until you reach the exit point of the National Park. From there, Namche is just a couple of minutes away. For the night, you will stay at Namche.

Namche is a perfect spot for acclimatization. This place has been the trading hub for centuries, where the traders from Tibet exchanged salt for the flour and other products from the Sherpas of Khumbu. Perhaps, this is the region why Namche is relatively more developed than other parts of the Khumbu region, in terms of modern-day services and amenities such as the internet, telephone, standard hotels, etc.

Explore the monasteries and museums around the Namche and then, proceed towards the viewpoint to witness the majestic glimpse of Mt. Everest, highest point on the Earth. This view can be seen from the two spots: one from the Everest View Hotel, while other from the hilltop of where National Park headquarters is situated. Climb up to these points and then enjoy the surreal view of the Everest. Later, return to your hotel room for the overnight stay.

The adventure continues from Namche Bazaar heading higher trail, facing tremendous mountain scenery. The walk leads on winding scenic path with down to Phunki Tenga for lunch. Afternoon few hour climb in the cool shade of pine and rhododendron forest to reach Tengboche and the monastery. At Tengboche visit the monastery tour of cultural and religious interest, along with panorama of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. Includes views of Ama Dablam with range of snow clad peaks that surrounds Tengboche and its colorful monastery. At Tengbochefor overnight in a nice lodge with views of Himalayan peaks.

Slowly the adventure comes to an end, enjoy the last day walks to Lukla following on a nice pleasant trail. Heading past Phakding and then with final climbto Lukla by lunch time as well as for last night dinner. After an exciting and marvelous adventure around the high Khumbu to Tengboche Monastery.

An early start to catch the flight back to Kathmandu, after breakfast a short walk to Lukla’s Tenzing & Hillary Airport. As the plane arrives from Kathmandu, and then board on a smaller aircraft for sweeping flight to Kathmandu.On reaching at Kathmandu Airport domestic terminal, and then transfer back to your hotels, having a free afternoon for individual activities.
