Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu, the starting point of your Manaslu Circuit Trek. Take some time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. You can explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu and try delicious local food.

Today is dedicated to obtaining the necessary permits for your trek. Make sure you have all the required documents before setting off. Permits are like special permission slips that allow us to explore the beautiful Manaslu region. We’ll visit the permit office and fill out some forms to make sure everything is ready for our journey.

Embark on a scenic drive to Machha Khola, the initial point of your trek. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the way. We’ll travel in a comfortable vehicle and pass by small villages, green hills, and maybe even spot some wildlife. Keep your eyes open for waterfalls and rivers too!

Set out on your hike from Machha Khola in the direction of Jagat. Experience the trail’s tranquillity and natural beauty. We’ll walk through narrow paths surrounded by tall trees, and maybe even cross a suspension bridge over a river. Along the way, we might meet friendly locals and see how they live in the mountains.

As you proceed to Deng, pass through more lovely villages and verdant forests. We’ll continue our journey on foot, walking through lush green forests filled with colourful flowers and chirping birds.

We might even catch glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Keep an eye out for unique plants and animals that are native to this region.

Take in the peaceful settings and cultural encounters as you stroll along the picturesque trail heading to Prok. Today’s trek is relatively gentle, with beautiful scenery all around us. We’ll pass by terraced fields where local farmers grow crops, and we might see yaks grazing on the mountainsides. The air is crisp and refreshing as we make our way through this serene landscape.

As you hike to Lho, a charming village that provides a look into the native way of life, take in the breathtaking mountain vistas. We’ll walk through quaint villages with traditional houses made of stone and wood.

The people here have a rich culture and are known for their warm hospitality. The towering mountains in the background create a stunning backdrop as we explore the village and interact with the locals.

The trail becomes steeper, and the air gets thinner. As we get closer to Dharamsala, the base of Larkya La Pass, we’ll be surrounded by tall peaks and glaciers. The landscape feels like another world, with rocky slopes and icy streams. We’ll rest and prepare ourselves for the difficult climb to Larkya La Pass, which awaits us tomorrow.

Conquer the mighty Larkya La Pass and descend to the beautiful Bhimtang. Those incredible views will leave you mesmerised. Today is the most challenging but also the most rewarding day of the trek. Another thing to keep in mind is the altitude sickness, which may be of huge concern during the Manaslu Circuit Budget Trek. It’s important to be aware of the symptoms and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being.

As this trek involves gaining significant altitude it is important to note that the air becomes thinner leading to lower oxygen levels and ultimately, altitude sickness. This is the reason why there is a whole day for acclimation which allows your body to adjust to the changing altitude.

In case of persistent symptoms like severe headache, dizziness, nausea, or shortness of breath, it is essential to descend to a lower altitude and seek medical assistance if necessary. Himalayan Friendly will have a first aid kit and the essentials in case of an emergency but we recommend you to carry altitude sickness tablets by your side.
