Namche Bazaar trek with Himalayan Friendly allows trekkers to enjoy a glimpse of Mt. Everest. It includes other famous towering giant peaks, which makes the trek delightful with scenic views throughout the walks. This short and ideal trek with enjoyable moments, is suitable for all types of
people and age groups. Namche Bazaar Trek is a moderate country walk with ups and downhill trails without the problem of catching altitude sickness. The highest point for overnight stops is Namche Bazaar at 3,440 meters high, but one gets acclimatized, by taking slow walks. Leads to an enjoyable walk in the first half of the adventure, following a pleasant path through lovely villages.

On walks, trekkers can observe the rich heritages of the villagers and the highlanders of the Nepal Himalayas. The are interwoven with Buddhist religions and cultures, and as you notice on walks lined with prayer monuments. The treks to Namche Bazaar with a few hours of steep uphill after entering the Sagarmatha National Park. Which is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites with the world’s famous mountains and flora and fauna.  After the climb facing views of the giant snow peaks, then enter the magical and colorful village of Namche Bazaar.

It is almost the size of a town; houses are built in an amphitheater U-shaped. It is an amazing place to explore and experience, at Namche Bazaar, have time for short hikes. Visiting interesting places and glorious viewpoints of Mt. Everest and adjoining peaks. Hike to the famed Everest View Hotel for a closer look at Mt. Everest amidst serene surroundings.    Enjoy a wonderful time and experience at Namche Bazaar and its adjoining villages and scenic viewpoints. Slowly the adventure ends following the pleasant route to Lukla for the last overnights around Khumbu and Everest.

Best Time For Namche Bazzar Trek

Nepal has four seasons spring from March to May, summer, and monsoon starts from June to August. Includes the autumn/fall of September to November with winter from December to February. Namche Bazaar is a moderate trek of shorter duration and can be visited all seasons of the year. Except for the wet monsoon times of summer from mid-June to August, where most days are cloudy with light rains. The best time is spring, with days longer and warmer with daylight hours from 6 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. Cold mornings, late afternoons, and nights, but with clear fine days for pleasant walks with stunning views of the snow peaks.

The next best season is autumn/fall of September to November, most days are fine with crystal clear blue skies. Mornings, late afternoons, and nights are cold, and in shades away from sunlight. Days are short with late sunrises from 6 a.m. and gets dark by 5 p.m. Interested visitors can enjoy trekking in winter, despite the freezing temperatures in the morning and evenings. Most days are clear and fine for stunning views and good walks, with fewer numbers of trekkers to encounter.

 

Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Lukla 2,820 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs. [+]

An early morning drive to Kathmandu domestic air terminal for a short scenic flight to Lukla. Board on a smaller plane for 35-minute flights facing the grand vista of the snow-capped mountain ranges. Includes views off Everest as the plane lands east and then lands at Lukla's amazing airstrip. After getting organized with a refreshing break, follow HF& expert guide from the Lukla Tenzing & Hillary Airport. The walk heads through the town lined with shops, stores, and restaurants. Then reach the outskirts of Lukla town at Pasang Lhamu gate, (late Sherpa lady, the first Nepali lady to conquer Mt. Everest). From here downhill towards several nice Sherpa traditional villages with cheerful smiles. A pleasant winding trail reaches the first overnight stop at Phakding village, situated by the glacial Dudh Koshi River.

Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m-06 hrs. [+]

Enjoying the pleasant first overnights in Khumbu, today is a long day walk to Namche Bazaar, our ultimate destination. After a good breakfast walk follows above the rive with short downs and ups to cross a long bridge. After the bridge a short climb to the village of Chomo and then descend to a stream. Then short steep ups to Monjo Village and enter the Sagarmatha National Park, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From here a short downhill and then across the bridge to Jorsalle for lunch and refreshing stops. Jorsalle is the last village before Namche Bazaar, located on a Dudh Koshi gorge amidst beautiful woods of rhododendrons and pines. Afternoon walks on the river
bed with climbs to cross over a high bridge, then on undulating winding ups. Taking slow with a short rest and admiring the surrounding views of the snow- capped peaks. Reaching a resting spot an hour before Namche Bazaar, when the day is clear trekkers can enjoy the views of Mt. Everest. After a good rest the
climb continues towards Namche Bazaar, enjoy the last hour of the climb to reach the overnight stops. On arrival check into a nice cozy and homely lodge or guest house, and enjoy the views of Namche Bazaar and its colorful houses serving as hotels and lodges set in a U shape. Namche Bazaar offers modern facilities like ATMs, Banks, post offices, Cyber Café, and Trekking / Climbing shops. The capital of Khumbu Street is lined
with shops, and stores with many café, bakeries, and restaurants. In the shadows of the Kwangde range of peaks towards the south, as well as views of Tharmasarku peak. Namche is famous for its lively colorful Saturday market held once a week, named Namche Bazaar.

Day 3: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion. [+]

Namche Bazaar is the best place for acclimatization at 3,440 meters high, before heading towards a higher altitude. At Namche various interesting hikes to enjoy short or long to catch grand views of Mt. Everest.  The short walk is a climb on the top of Namche to the Park headquarters, a scenic ridge with a museum. Enjoy the views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and majestic Ama Dablam, Kangtenga, and Tharmasarku with the range of Kwangde peaks. Then visit the museum steeped with information about the Khumbu region from Sherpa religions, culture, and history. Includes history of mountaineering to flora
and flora, etc. Interested people can enjoy a few-hour climb up to the Everest View Hotel, the first luxury hotel in Khumbu. It is listed on the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s highest posh hotel at 3,962 m/ 13,000 feet high. Trekkers can enjoy the grand vista of Mt. Everest while relaxing with a warm cup
of coffee.  Energetic people can enjoy walking to Khumjung Village downhill from Everest View Hotel. A quaint traditional village, quite different from Namche Bazaar, visit the old monastery. It is the only place where visitors can witness a scalp believed to be of a Yeti. After, a great morning hike return walks down with bird-eye views of Namche Bazaar. The rest of the day after lunch at leisure explore Namche Bazaar and its fancy shops and restaurants.

Day 4: Trek to Lukla 2,820m - 06 hrs. [+]

Enjoying exciting moments with two nights at Namche Bazaar, today is quite a long walk to Lukla. Start the last and final day trek, as early as possible then head downhill to Dudh Koshi River bank. Then retrace the trail to Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit post. Reaching Monjo, then over the bridge to Phakding for a possible lunch stop. The walk continues for a few hours with the last climb to Lukla and then transfer to a nice lodge. Enjoy a relaxing time in Lukla with a final dinner around Khumbu and Everest. Enjoy the dinner party with fellow trekkers, guides, staff, and cheerful porters.

Day 5: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels. [+]

The flight operates from early morning, walk to Lukla’s Tenzing and Hillary airport, as the plane reaches the parking. Then get on board for a sweeping short flight back to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu domestic airport transfer to your respective hotels, and rest of the day free at leisure for individual activities.
