    Our 8-day Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most enjoyable and exciting short adventures of a week-long walk. On this trek to Langtang Valley, trekkers will feel safe from catching HAS or High Altitude Sickness. As the elevation gains gradually, by the time you reach the highest overnight stop at Kyanjin Gompa. By then, all will be well acclimatized to enjoy the spectacular surrounding views and panoramas of the giant snow mountains.

    Langtang Valley Trek is for all types of people and age groups, including families with children and elderly folks. But should be physically fit and in good health to accept the challenge of uphill walks. So that all can enjoy the highlights of the adventure on reaching the final destination.

    The adventure to Langtang Valley leads to moderate walks with some steep climbs to encounter. However, it is a lovely walk, where all needs to heed slowly. Have time for a short rest to enjoy and observe the surrounding glorious vista of the snow-capped peaks and fascinating cultures.

    The trail follows from one village to another, walking through a lovely forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. Then, reaching Kyanjin Gompa, a moderate-sized settlement with several good lodges. Amidst the heart of picturesque Langtang Valley, enclosed by a series of giant snow peaks.

    At Kyanjin Gompa, enjoy the rest days for an exciting hike to the scenic viewpoints of Kyanjin-Ri and Tserko-Ri. The high ridges of Kyanjin-Ri or Tserko-Ri offer a spectacular panorama of the Langtang Himal range of peaks. Enjoy the views as far as Jugal Himal with the prominent peaks of Dorje Lakpa and Langshisa-Ri. Include views of mountains with the world's highest Shisapangma across the border in Tibet.

    The Best Seasons for Langtang Valley Trekking:

    The best seasons for Langtang Valley Trekking are spring and autumn/fall.  Spring starts from March to May, a lively season with longer sunlight hours for pleasant walks and views. The best times and seasons are when wildflowers are in

    seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors. In spring, with cold mornings, late afternoon, and night, it can get cloudy with chances of light showers and snowfall sometimes.

    The next best season is the autumn/fall, which begins from September to November. It is the high season for various adventures in Nepal and Langtang Valley Trek. Most days are fine and clear with cold morning, late afternoon, and night times. The days are short and get dark soon due to limited sunlight hours.     Itinerary

    Morning starting early for a long and exciting drive to Syabrubesi the gateway town and village to Langtang Valley. The drive follows north on leaving Kathmandu, heading past Trisuli town and then to enter Rasuwa district. The road leads on winding uphill to cooler hills reaching Dhunche, the headquarters town of Rasuwa district. As well as the entrance of Langtang National Park, from Dhunche downhill on zig-zagged winding road to reach Syabrubesi. Arriving by late afternoon for overnight, and then check into a nice lodge have time to explore the town-farm village. Observe the local culture and custom of the Tamang people the tribes of Langtang and Central Himalayan region.

    Syabrubesi is vantage starting point for Ganesh Himal, Tibet border, and Tamang Heritage Trail. As well as to Langtang Valley, morning walk follows to cross a bridge and climb towards small farm areas. As walk continues reaching a small settlement of Riverside with few Tea Houses. Stopping for lunch stop, afternoon a gradual climb into dense forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. The reaching an open area amidst forest surrounding.     Lama Hotel located in a river gorge amidst dense woods, morning walk starts following the river upstream through lovely trees. Reaching a nice spot at Ghode Tabla for lunch, afternoon walk into forested trail to Langtang Village. Trekkers can see the rubble of big boulders from the avalanches that destroyed the village in 2015 earthquakes. Many local people were killed as well as some foreign trekkers, a small memorial of Stupa stands at the village. The village has been re-built and the life is slowly coming back to normal, enjoy the comfort of a nice simple lodge.

    From Langtang Village today a short walk to Kyanjin Gompa for lunch and overnight stop. The walk follows past to adjoining village of Mundu with short steep climb then into a wide valley. From here the tall tree lines drop for short juniper bushes, facing views of Langtang Himal with Dorje Lakpa. Slowly the walk reaches a lovely large settlement of Kyanjin Gompa with a small
    monastery. The lodges here are much better than of previous overnight stops, enjoy the comfort of a nice lodge accommodation. Arriving at Kyanjin Gompa for lunch and for two overnight stops, located amidst beautiful surrounding amidst Langtang Valley, Afternoon explore the Kyanjin areas and its small monastery of great religious and cultural interest.

    An enjoyable and exciting place Kyanjin Gompa for rest day, having breakfast options for short and long day hike. The short hike is climb to Kyanjin-Ri at 4,773 m and the longer hiking of 4-5 hours. It is a steep climb up to Tserko-Ri. Which is at 5,033 m high, both viewpoints offer spectacular panorama of the surrounding giant peaks. Includes super vista of Langtang Himal range with Langtang Lirung and Langtang-Ri. Overlooking as far as Jugal Himal, Yala Peak and Dorje Lakpa with some mountains across the border in Tibet. Rest of the afternoon at leisure amidst beautiful mountain surroundings at Kyanjin Gompa.

    Enjoying wonderful time at Kyanjin, with glorious views of towering snow-capped peaks. After breakfast enjoy the longest day walks to Lama Hotel, with long stretch of downhill. Reaching back into tall tree lines past Mundu, Langtang villages to reach Lama Hotel for overnight stop.

    The last day trek of the adventure, morning walk follows on the same trail, enjoy the views along the route. As the walk leads downhill through forested path, heading past farm areas. Then finally end the walk reaching Syabrubesi for last overnight around Langtang Himal region and in Rasuwa district.

    Morning after last overnight in a mountain village at Syabrubesi and around Langtang Himal region. The drive follows on the same interesting highway past farm villages and towns to reach Kathmandu. Arriving in the late afternoon, rest of the evening for leisure activities or shopping souvenirs.

    Accommodation in Langtang Valley Trek

    Accommodation en route to Langtang Valley Trekking is a straightforward trekking route, starting from lovely Syabrubesi village. The lodge accommodation in Syabrubesi village offers spacious rooms with options for an attached or use, common bathrooms, and toilets. Having a large nice warm dining room to enjoy a long list of food menus.

    Syabrubesi is the starting and finishing point of Langtang Valley Trekking, from Syabrubesi onward overnights in a simple lodge accommodation. Treks lead to Lama Hotel, located by the river gorge amidst dense forest, which has several nice lodges. The facilities of a single room and attached bathrooms and toilets are not available at present. But can happen shortly, the rooms are nice and cozy with a large warm dining room.

    The next overnight stop is Langtang Village or Mundu which is quite close to each other. The accommodations are simple but nice and clean, with common bathrooms and toilets. After Langtang Village is the last overnight stop in Kyanjin Gompa, located in the heart of scenic Langtang Valley. Kyanjin Gompa is a lovely settlement with many fine lodges, offering the best accommodation.

    Trekkers can enjoy the comfort of a single room. As well as on a sharing basis, few lodges here provide attached bathrooms and toilets. But one should be aware of the cold temperatures in the morning and nighttime. With the flush in toilets and washing basins, the running water does not function, as the plumbing systems can get frozen. Especially in the morning and nighttime, it is best to use sharing bathe and toilets. Using rooms with non-attached bathrooms, trekkers have to pay extra for hot showers.

    Food In Langtang Valley Trek

    Food in Langtang Valley Trekking, most Tea-House / Lodges provides basic food and simple room accommodation with a sharing toilets and baths.

    Kerosene, and Gas Lamp or Solar power for lighting the dining rooms with wood or cow/ yak dry dung fuel for the fire place. At present, most lodges serve a long list of comprehensive food menu in a nice dining hall.

    The most common meal is Nepali Dal Bhat, boiled or steamed rice. It is served with mild seasonal vegetable curry, including Dal, a lentil bean soup with homemade pickles, and hot sauce as options. The food menu lists from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to snack items. Breakfast from oats porridge, including cereals to cornflakes with toast/ chapattis and pancake, with choice of egg variation.

    Lunch and Dinner with Nepali and Tibetan main course with a choice of soups. The most available food besides Dal, Bhat is noodles, fried with vegetables or eggs or noodle soups. Tibetan Bread made from wheat, millet, or barley flour, and sometimes vegetable dumplings available, and fried or boiled potatoes.

    Fresh bakery bread is rare around most lodges around remote areas of Mardi Himal, but one can order pancakes or chapattis. It goes well with fresh country honey, jams, and pickles or butter to add along with refreshing hot drinks. Like Nepali Tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate where available.
